Morning all,

Just checking in to see if you approve of my loop, First of all here is a quick rig spec:

HAF 932 Case
Mobo: Gigabyte UD5 X58
CPU: i7 920 Do stepping

I am only going to cool the CPU at the moment but may venture out and cool the GPU in the future.

This is my proposed WC loop at the moment:

CPU Block: Watercool Heatkiller CPU LGA1366 Rev. 3.0 Copper
http://www.jab-tech.com/Watercool-He...r-pr-4606.html

Radiator:
Thermochill PA120.3
http://www.jab-tech.com/Thermochill-...3-pr-3264.html

Fans for the Radiator: Gelid WING 12
http://www.gelidsolutions.com/produc...=1&cid=2&id=21

Pump:12V Laing DDC-1T Ultra w/XSPC V3 Acrylic Pump Top
http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/cata...roducts_id=614

Tubing:1/2" ID - 3/4" OD Clearflex 60 Hose
http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/cata...oducts_id=1622

Barbs: Can you suggest what size is best suited for me and what metal to use as I don't want to mix metals

Coolant Liquid:Thermochill EC6 Non Conductive Coolant - UV Neon Green
http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/cata...oducts_id=1982

Thermal Paste: Ice Diamond

Reservoir: Undecided and need advice please.

What does everyone think?

Looks good.

Just IMHO I like tygon tubing, have used it for years and I know others like other tubing but that's just what I like using.

The barbs should be any that will fit your components since they are usually chrome plated or similar so you don't have to worry about dissimilar metal corrosion, just make sure to get 1/2" ID on them and choose the high flow ones if you can.

What reservoir are you going with or are ya gonna do a T-line?

Also what fans you gonna go with?
First off why not buy it all from Watercooling UK. Shipping from jab-tech is expensive, OR have you done it just to show?.

CPU Block is Fine

Radiotor is Fine, Do you already have fans?

Pump is Fine

Tubing i would change to 7/16 it gives a tighter fit over 1/2 barbs. XSPC is great and is really good value in the UK http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/cata...oducts_id=1117. Tygon tubing is sticky thats why i don't recommend it, it picks up all the dirt and dust, IT also is really expensive.

Barbs i would go for the XSPC 1/2 http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/cata...oducts_id=1790 i would recommend these to you for quality, price and the large straight section for hose clamp.

You need hose clamps for the tubing, http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/cata...roducts_id=681 can also be brought in pack of ten.

Coolant is Fine.

What reservoir are you going with and do you have thermal paste.

use compression fittings

way better than barbs

Thanks for all your comments.

As for reservouir I have not decided yet and need advice on that. (original post ammended)

I just done the links for show as I was browsing the web at the time.

Thermal paste: IC Diamond

Fans for the radiator: Undecided yet but I have been looking at the Gelid 12 wing UV green fan. Probably three on the radiator.
for your reservoir i suggest a top/res combo like this one or if you have free drive bays this is what i have in my loop, and it will keep ur loop looking cleaner

EDIT:
and for coolant most people around here just use distilled water and PT Nuke. most coolants leave gunk residue in waterblocks that needs to be cleaned ever so often.

Thanks for the advice I was just looking for something along the line of this http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/ekekspreac.html

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Whatever you do DO NOT use UV coolant/aditive.

Unless you want to do manteinance to the loop every two months. Get UV tubes instead, and use Distilled (and glycerine, antifreez or your aditive of choice) and silver coils.

This.
You will get gunk and/or staining in your components. I would strongly suggest against it, having stubbornly tried several premixed coolants and dyes.

Both. I tried seven different coolants, from Primchill to Feser. Seven. No one glowed more than 3 months, all seven ended up with junk and even blocking the radiator and drying in the tubes (??!).

And of course, covering the interior of waterblocks.

Feser and Tygon are the bests. Masterflex, I haven't personally tried it, but many people had good experience with them.

Primochill makes decent UV tubing as well.

Feser tubing is hella expensive. I would go with primochill. Has basically the same bend radius, and is a bit cheaper.

Yes but have you tried this coolant?, don't say this coolant will gunk and till you have tried it. And there is only one person who has been running the coolant longer then me. And so far no staining or gunking.

However i have had many great experience with feser and primochill, and everyone who has had bad experience. IT is down to a chemical reaction.

Something in the loop which has't been cleaned properly ETC.

Tubing i would recommend A range of 7/16 uv tubing from XSPC http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/cata...hp?cPath=38_89

But it depend on your chosen hose size?. Tygon is great but like i said on the last page, it's sticky and picks up lots of dirt and it's expensive.

Primochill is great tubing if you can find somewhere to buy it in the UK. If not i would expect to pay £10 a meter.

Bentley I dont doubt your thoughts on tygon but in my experience I dont think it is sticky. It doesnt pick up dirt more then any other tubing then any I have tried. All of them wipe off the same and it seems to be more settling of dust then anything so yeah you gotta clean your system.

In my experience tygon would bend better and is very flexible, it has allowed me to set it up how I want easier. Yes it can be more expensive Ill give ya that.
lose the UV coolant... if you want it green... get green tubing
