hey download these programs and tell us yor temps

mbm5

http://mbm.livewiredev.com/

and then post your temps as long as they are below 50c load when u overclock then your fine im not so sure on intel temps but theres some help

Depends what your temps are at idle and load with the cooling installed at the moment. If you could tell us that, it would help a lot. I dont think you will get 3000 out if it, but im not an intel clocker, so i wouldnt know. Bear in mind that it wont be a real "Upgrade", but it might make it faster if you can get it stable.

cpu temp - 28 c
mb temp - 26 c

this is with my pc overclocked to 2500 something im testing it slow by slow.

this temp cames from asus probe 2

i see u ropey
come to msn lol
help me for next step

Since you have a Northwood, I would say you could get atleast +3.0ghz, if your temps stay below 55C load and you ram is atleast rated to handle pc2700 speeds.

At 166fsb-
CPU clock - 3000ghz = 166 x 18
Memory clock - 333mhz = 166 x 2 (this is pc2700 speeds)

You might need to increase Vcore to reach this, but don't go overboard and increase Vcore to +1.7V, because that is when SNDS (Sudden Northwood Death Syndrome) strikes.
but ropey supposed to help meh buttt he not coming to msn
cuz i need someone to guide me or i will **** my pc

your temps look great for OCing, as ckp said, stay under 55c LOAD, and dont go over 1.7vcore and im ver confedent you will break and exceed 3ghz
i know nothing about overclocking is why i need a guide that will tell me what to do step by step which was ropey but since he dont look patient or we i guess i will have to ask someone else

if you willing to help me step by step. add [email protected]
"because that is when SNDS (Sudden Northwood Death Syndrome) strikes" LoL I love that... hehe. Not really more info to give except maybe you can tell us what type and speed memory you have to see if that may cause an issue with your oc.

THERE! LOL NETHING ELSE YOU NEED?

i also did this. ropey tell me to do that now my clocks on cpu-z goes to 2500 somthing

That about does it

Restart your system and enter the AwardBIOS setup by pressing the <Delete> key upon restart.

Enter your advanced

In step formation:

Set "CPU Speed" to "Manual"
Set "CPU External Frequency" (MHz) to 140 (133 is your unclocked spec)
Leave your "Vcore" at "Auto" ( You will change this later but for now you want to find your maximal overclock without raising the core voltage)

Move to "Chip Configuration"

Set your "SDRAM Configuration" to "By SPD"
Set your "Chipset Clock Mode" to "Asynchronous" (This is referred to a PCI/AGP lock and will keep your agp and pci bus both within their rated specs whilst you raise the CPU. Normally if you did not do this you would raise both your PCI and AGP bus out of spec and would easily render your system instable).

have you read through some guides...? read through this, it will help you get started....

Yea basically he wants you to:

- run FSB:RAM at 1:1 ratio (you are currently running at 4:5 ratio from cpu-z shot)

- Use automatic RAM timings

- Lock PCI/AGP buses

Ropey knows what he is doing, so do what he says and you will not have to worry about damaging anything

I know you are a young 16 but please take into account that you are not the only person here I am helping.

When I enter this forum I:

Check my Personal messages and reply (this is time dependent on how many pm's I receive)

Check my previous posts to see any answers (you created a new post thread so I did not even know it existed) I then answer those posts.

I now come to your thread to see you complaining that it isn't cool because I have not jumped to help you immediately.

I think that you need instruction on manners, forum etiquette and patience. I spent an hour and a half on messenger with you. Teaching you because you say you do not understand the posting. Now it is time for you to research some on your own.

Alright. What are your BIOS Settings at now? Your fsb. You have set your pci/agp to asynchronous mode?

Check out this webpage.
It's all about overclocking the 2.4B.
Good luck to you and to all devoted people like Ropey

my pc is actually at what you told me.

would be easier if you come on msn and tell me next step of modification on my bios so i can do it and see if still stable.

No, I do this via the forum. You need to tell me what changes you have made. Not what I told you but the steps you have made. What the settings are at and what stability testing you have done. Then you need to tell me the idle and load temperatures are at when you are overclocked at your level.

I came on MSN to help you get started. You have started. Now it is time for you to work with all here at the forum. Not just me. You need to post what you have accomplished and have all help you. Not just me.
