You have to give the PSU a "power on" signal before it will send power. You can do this by shorting (with a paper clip or something) the green wire (16) on the 24 Pin motherboard connector with any black wire (15, 17, 18,...)

okay so if i do thepaper clip method, do i need to shove the parerclip all the way in? cause the holes are really small and has another silver hole ,or do i just put it in slighty?Originally Posted by Poseidon;12994034
The fan wont start before the PSU get's a signal to power on.
So you would either have to do it the hard way and connect it to your MB etc, or just do it the easy way, a.k.a paperclip.
Unless you have MASSIVE paperclips, it should fit in all the way.Originally Posted by tweaker123;12994043

I would think so, yes.Originally Posted by tweaker123;12994070
okay so shove paperclip all the way in to greenwire and black, if the fan on the psu doesnt spin, its dead?
Yes, but there's a better chance that it's fine rather than DOA.Originally Posted by tweaker123;12994070

Um, those colorful bendy ones are metal as well. Just strip off the plastic coating. Or try it without doing it. Perhaps the core of the clip will still make enough contact to get the job done!Originally Posted by tweaker123;12994150
the paperclip has to be metal right?i only have those colorfulbendy ones atm![]()
im sry but what do you mean by this? do you mean connect all my hardware to the psu?Originally Posted by Amann;12994256
just run the psu outside your case and run the power cables in to temporarily test it to find out
