Hey all I'm going with the Dell wfp monitor but I would really have to strach my buget to go with the 30" I was going to get the 24" is the higher rez worth it I will eventuly have 2 8800gtx's but if I go with the 30" I wil be living off of mac and cheese for the next month or two.. What do you think should I just starve for it or should I go for the 24" and be able to eat

the 32" monitor that I have now has a max rez of 1386*768 I need to upgrade to take advantage of the card.

Yes.
The 24'' is plenty. You won't need more than that. I think the resolution is 1920 x 1200, so there's no real gain when going to the 30''. IMO.
Baran, you want the 30" Dell, give them a month to bring the new panels out at (hopefully) lower prices.
starve then you can call yourself a comp geek
What's wrong with mac and cheese? Anyway - someone on the forums once said that the monitor is what you're gonna spend a few hundred hours staring at - go for a good one. If you can afford it buy it - esp with sli 8800's in the future. A 30" monitor will def. take advantage of sli
yea, u will be putting more stress on the gpu, but im sure they can handle it, though u want tohave the "extra" power for gaming with maxed out settings.
ok but that means running a 8800gtx at 1386*768 for about 2 or 3 months I guess it will give me time to run games completely full out at that rez-though I think I was just about doing that on my 7800gtx sli - and then get the 30" and be really impressed with it. maybe I just get it so I have a reason to buy a 2nd 8800
in any case thnaks I will wait and keep you posted
1960 * 1200 = 2,352,000 pixels - 24"
2560 * 1600 = 4,096,000 pixels - 30"

See Baran...I knew my simple Yes, was correct.=)

I want to get a 30", but, I cannot afford one anytime soon. Or even just anotehr 24"

It's such a great monitor, I could only imagine how nice the 30" is.

Also, there are ways to save about 20%, just ask me and I'll point you in the right direction.
that monitor that you have is VERY nice as well.
Go for the 30 incher mac n' cheese is good 30 inch dell monitor is better!
can you get a refuberished one easyly and did they actually fix anything or just trying to find someone who will live with 10 dead pixels...I just always feel kind of uneasy about refurbished monitors.

I've never purchased a Dell refurb. Just get the accidental damage protection, and if there's a dead pixel, put your foot through it.
