Hello. My question is pretty much as the title states. I am just wondering if there is a significant difference between the two for the price increase.

I use the term future-proof only because I will not be able to upgrade for the foreseeable future. I will be at [email protected] for quite a while.

Thank you in advance for your help!

There are plenty of benchmark comparisons to googlefu. It might be wise to check how your favorite games perform on them.

I think a 1070 would be plenty for [email protected] for a while, but if you're going to keep it a long time and can afford the extra $100, I'd probably pick the 1080 because it would hold up better if you decide to jump up to 1440p or a faster monitor a year or three down the road. Figure the cost difference over 3-4 years is practically pennies per day if you want to look at it that way.
