With MSI, there are several different 1080 models with different cooling systems and stock speeds.

Couldn't you buy the cheapest model of these 1080 cards, overclock it with Afterburner and a vBIOS mod and achieve a better overclock than the most expensive model ?

Aren't these all the same boards ? Or are the more expensive models using binned chips ?

Is there a visual difference when using 10 Gbps memory versus 11 Gbps ?

Couldn't you overclock the 10 Gbps memory to be near the 11 Gbps memory speed ?

power delivery/VRM design mostly. Non-Reference PCBs typically are non-reference for a reason. it's not done for ****s and giggles.

grabbing a cheap Zotac card and putting a water block probably won't give you the same OCs as a FTW3 card. it might, but probably won't.

10Gbps can be OCed to 11Gbps speed, sure. but then you can always OC the 11Gbps vRAM.

but buying this late in the life cycle of the 1080 is kind of silly though. You can't wait a month or two?
