I bought this FM radio clock:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Mir...758.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.75954c4d9hfxdz

but the radio signal is too weak, on 80 % of radio stations I hear crackling. Is there a way to boost a fm radio antenna? I think that at least 20% boost would solve crackling problem....

I was told that I should try to extend radio antenna cable with some metal wire if I understood correctly? ???? I need to cut those rubber layer skin on antenna and that connect that to metal extender?

Strip off the last 1 or 2 inches of the rubber to expose the (copper?) wire inside. Try sticking that out a window to see if that helps at all and to rule out interference in your home.

I would cut about 5 feet of 16~ gauge speaker wire and completely replace that cable by soldering one end to the receiver and running the other end up the wall in a Y shape. Or you can try soldering it to the end of the existing cable (if you can't solder, just expose the copper wire about 1-2" and twist them together as good as you can).

Could also be that the stations you're listening to are > 90 miles away.

I think, it's really good advice. Thanks a lot for this idea, however I would just purchase another one because I did have such situation. I was really willing to make it work better and just boost it(but I had cb base station antenna- it is used in case of emergency situations in order to contact some groups of people using this station as well). The thing you really need to do is to throw it away and purchase yourself a new one which will be much more efficient and easy to use. I've initially used https://www.palmgear.com/best-cb-base-station-antenna/ to consult and then chose sirio m400, which is pretty convenient and efficient in use. Completely satisfied with my choice of throwing away the old one and replacing it with the newest version.
