I've been under a rock with my XP laptop for a long time! Is there a built-in command line interface like XP & Server 2003 WMIC implemented for Vista/Win 7?

Thanks

I'm concerned about you..
Start --> "search programs and files" --> type cmd--> Right click the cmd program --> "Run as Administrator"

EDIT:

Also, whatever that is, you two should keep it to PM's :/

Plus, Scott: according to your Signature, you have Windows 7. So, you could have done the same thing I did. I mean, all I did was I typed WMIC into the Run dialog box, and then I had the console (yes, I am old school and prefer the Run dialog box). But, I used Google first to make sure that I was doing the right thing.
And as it turns out, I am.

But an even easier way is to just click Start and then type wmic (or press the Windows Key and type wmic). Of course, make sure you click on it or press Enter.

The reason why I was so short with you in my first reply is because your sig rig shows that you have Windows 7.

Windows 7 includes PowerShell, so naturally WMI would be supported.
Yeah, I was reading a very old tech documnet that was talking about how WMIC was only implementd in xp and server 2003. I just never botherd checking the date.
