I've been checking for 2 x 1 GB sets for about 3 weeks now and this is the best deal I've found so far. If you guys tell me it's good ram I'm buying! Is it good for overclocking? I'd like to reach a FSB of 240-250 with it.

I found this memory compatibility list for my mobo... 1GB CL2 Corsair memory ain't in it... should I worry about compatibility?

Personally, I think the stock timings are sweet for the price. However, if you're looking to overclock it, you might want to read this thread. Honestly, you wouldn't get that much better overclocking a 1gb stick so I don't really think the price difference justifies getting anything but this.

that RAM looks decent... but I'm fairly certain that unless you get a really good pair you will not be able to reach 240-250. Most 1gb DDR400 tops out about 230-235. 1gb sticks do not OC near as well as 512mb or 256mb sticks do so if your goal is to reach 250 then you should really start with some DDR500. If you only need them to run 240 you can always try to tighten up the timings a bit.
ocz, g.skill and mushkin all have some good DDR500

Oh well, my mobo can't take DDR500, the max I can put in it is DDR400.

And I thought corsair XMS memory was good for overclocking... well even if I can't go past 230, I don't mind much ; price is also very important to me and it's dirt cheap atm.

I think I'm getting it.

All mobo's can take any speed of ram as long as the type is sorrect (i.e. ddr or ddr2), they just say ddr400 cause thats the stock ram speed at stock fsb. My mobo says ddr400 but I have ddr600 ram in it. You can get ddr500.

For that price you should that it over any other 2GB rams, beside it should hit 250mhz with 3-4-4-8 timming like the $150+ modules

this thing stable @ 253mz..(2.7V) with 3-3-2-5 timming. I reccommened this ram kit to anyone that look for the best perfomerce and decent price. I about to get the second pair..but I heard somewhere in this forum mention that 4gig of RAM actually slow down the computer perfommance. Anyone with enough knowlege about ram..please explain this
