Hey i'm in need of help with my hard drive.

gonna try to fix it before sending it off to RMA

so what hapended :

placed it into the pc like normally and tried to copy over a other hardrive file's on it but windows keeps interrupting (whas copying a windows OS aswel)

so i booted up a ubuntu live CD to copy the file's without windows interrupting this took a while (400gb) but it finished
the next morning my dad removed both of the drives out of the pc ( the new one and the old) and took the old one to his work (works fine)
and placed the new one back in the anti-static Bag and then placed it inside of the case (on the metal) (the pc whas maybe even on when he did this ) (in standby mode) (the drive whas partitioned/had MBR and 400gb of files on it and after this its empty and doesnt even have a partition table)

windows cant start up with the drive plugged in ( gets stuck on a black screen) (only let it run for 1hour )
windows install disk can starts up but it takes 30min (and then freeze's when trying to do something with the drive
parted magic disk starts up normaly (shows disk errors while loading) shows error's when trying to format it( first tells theres no partition table) and then gives a error about how it cant read/write to it when trying to make a partition table
Mac os : starts up fine and says something about writing to last block failed when trying to make partition/format it
right now i'm in windows 7 and used a usb to sata converter from a external drive to connect it

it can see it(in diskpart) and used CMD/diskpart to clean it and then went into diskmanger to get it MBR and partition it

but it gave a error :The drive can not find the sector requested (edit: diskpart gives same error when i try to make a partition)

is there anything i can try?

edit : drive is a : WD20EARX ( 2tb western digital green)

Put the drive in a working machine, download and run HD Tune http://www.hdtune.com/ and check the health. If the health is ok then you may have messed up the file system on the disk and may just need to wipe the whole drive and start over.

Just RMA it you don't want a drive you can't trust. I bought 4 3TB in march one was making noise but working I RMAed I didn't trust it.

hey. right now im on a working windows 7 (brand new instal on a ssd)
il run HDtune and link a screenshot

@bigredishott i try to fix it before returning it to rma because my dad doesnt like to send a drive that might still have all his work data on it

so i run HD tune and select the drive and the program freeze for like 1min and then it's working and can go to health but it doesnt show anything ( on the SSD it did)
i try'd crystaldiskinfo but that doesnt show the drive even (still using the usb converter thing ) since windows 7 wont start up with this drive on sata

il give hdd regenarator a shot

hey im back i runned Hdd regenerator (free version)
the scan shows this :


after that it shows a screen with HD is not ready or something and tells me to restart (did this 3x) same error everytime

Edit: yea il tell him to Rma it then shud be fine only had this drive for 6 days sofar thanks for the help^^

yea the pc whas probly stil on when he removed the drive

if he unplugged it while it was running in the pc, then thats most likely the culprit,you need to have hotswap enabled on the motherboard to do that
