Sorry for my new-ness but in one of my old threads someone told me my motherboard wouldn't let me overlock anything because it was manufactured (bundled) so will this one let me do anything? Is it a good deal for $75.00 free ship?

My specs =

Quote:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 3.1GHz
Elitegroup MCP61PM-AM motherboard.
XFX NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512mb video card.
4gb DDR2 RAM
Antec Nine Hundred ATX Mid Tower Computer Case (1x 120mm, 2x 120mm, & 1x 200mm fan)

Motherboard I like:

The motherboard specs claim it can use the Phenom processor, does that mean it can handle a quad core?

To be honest those chips wont see much higher than stock. 90nm technology is already at its breaking point at around 3.3 ghz. The most i got my 6400x2 to hit was 3.46 something stable. Hardly worth the heat.

If your looking to overclock that chip you'll need water cooling.
