I bought this setup a while back off an OCN member. I used it quite a bit as an HTPC and eventually retired it for a PC in my shop, then got shelved.

That was 2 months ago. Today, I put that PC back together as I need to build a PC for my bedroom (Fiancée needs a PC in the bedroom since she's stuck in bed because of her pregnancy).

I install my old hardware, everything's fine, plug the VGA in the motherboard before hand without a video card installed and everything is perfect!

Now my issue is that it simply does not detect my video card anymore, I had a XFX HD 5450 One, but now I wanted to install a few emulators so that she can play GameCube games and up instead of having to have all our consoles in the bedroom (and TV and everything that comes with all of those).

After installing my 7950, the fans just pegged at 100% when powered on and the screen stays black. I know there's power going because the card gets warm like a normal card. The XFX 5450 does exactly that same too ('cept the fans, cause it has none).

I've cleared CMOS, I've set PCI-E as video priority in BIOS, drivers are installed (even if the problem surfaces right off the bat). I get no errors what so ever.

Help!

With the videocard installed, I would try to boot the computer using the onboard video and just see if the OS can detect the pci-e videocard at all. Does it show up in Device Manager at all?
