Before replying to this post, please realize that this topic fits in numerous sections, I chose this one because of the nature of the problem.

I have had this problem with near all of my portable music players, I rarely used this iPod touch, and I took EXTREME care not to ruin it, or hurt it in anyway.

Then one day, I plug in my headphones, and the audio is not working, and the problem is like every single problem I have ever had with mp3 players.

In order for the audio to work I must jiggle the headphone jack, and it will never stay fixed for long, it seems like something isn't touching right.

I would love to go into detail but that's basically it... The iTouch (I will call it what I want, I bought the damn thing) simply wont work.

I really would love to get this working, so any suggestions would be very nice.

Thanks, if you feel this does not belong here, contact a moderator and suggest a move, you can do this by clicking the red exclamation sign at the bottom of this post, please do not flame, just click and move on.

Thank you guys.

Not that this is any help either but it happened to my 1st Gen Touch, it resolved itself after a few days, soon after that the charging connector failed

I'm assuming its not under warranty but it might be worth taking back to where you bought it, just in case. If you don't ask, you don't get!

It should be the headphone plug itself. Do you put your iPod in your pocket or wind the cable of the headphone around the iPod?

OP, like everyone else said, it sounds like a problem with the jack on your headphones. Can you try plugging in another pair of headphones or ear buds? If the problem persists then maybe it's a problem inside the ipod, but it does sound like your jack is messed up and you can either get a new jack and solder it or whatever.

Anyway L4D2 calls.

For me it was my headphones when this EXACT same problem happened. The wires were separating from the jack.
