Last time I watercooled a pc was 2003.

Its been forever but I decided to give it a shot as a hobby.

I managed to get a FT03 case and would like to have 2x r9 290.

I dont overclock. I am more into silent systems.

So the question is,

1. How much PSU is minimum? I have a HX750 but would like to know if I have to upgrade. I will most likely upgrade to AX860 or Seasonic x850 or plat

2. How much radiator is required? I know the on the bot I can fit dual 80mm and top 120mm. I think I can squeeze in another 120 mm above the power supply but would like to put pump and reservoir in there if possible.

If you're not going to overclock, then the HX750 is plenty.

I don't know anything about water cooling.

Generally speaking you want one 120 radiator for each component + 120 for headroom. If you are limited on space and you are cooling two GPUs + CPU you would need at least 360 worth of radiator space. However if you want your rig to be super silent the more radiators you put in the slower RPM you can run your fans. So ideally you want as much rad space as you can so you can run your fans slower. Also if you have room Push/pull will get you great temps and slower running fans. Especially on single block radiators where I think a normal fan might run 20 dBa, a second fan only increases it to like 22 dBa.

Those 290s run so very hot even without overclocking them that you really can't skimp on cooling them, and that case is sooo tiny I don't think it can support enough internal raddage to do it. I'd definitely recommend watercooling those 290s though. Perhaps you could have an external radiator? I'm not even sure that case has adequate airflow for 2x290 air cooled, and you would probably need earplugs for everyone in your house for something like that. It's unbelievable just how loud those cards are and how hot they get. I couldn't imagine having two of them aircooled. I've never heard any other card anywhere close to that loud. Every time I hear one a 'jet engine' is the only thing that comes to mind to compare it to.

An external radiator box probably is the way to go. I think XSPC makes something like that...might be swiftech.

I am trying to not do anything external.

This will take some ideas and drilling to make it happen.

I am thinking may be I can use the back part where its saved for hdd/cable management and put in radiators for some added passive cooling.
