Jailbroken 8GB iPhone 1st Gen - Cracked Screen

I'd like to get a price on my iPhone that I currently use. I'm an iPhone owner and plan on upgrading to an iPhone 3G, but I'd like to sell the current one to help pay for the new one.

It's in full working order. Every single part of the screen works flawlessly. Despite how it looks, I have no problems seeing any text, on Safari, Text, or in Mail. I have absolutely no problem reading anything, and the touch-screen works flawlessly.

It's a 1st-Gen 8GB model, Jailbroken 2.2.1, and could possibly be Unlocked if it needed to be.
I can update it back to factory 2.2.1 firmware if needed. I actually prefer non-jailbroken firmware, but it depends on the buyer.

It includes the original iPhone/iPod Touch Dock, as well as the original USB cable which can be used to connect the Dock, or used to connect the iPhone without the Dock.

It also includes the popular Co-Zip Black case.

It also includes the original box with the "Finger Tips" booklet.

I'm also including a pack of Universal Screen Protectors which I will cut to fit onto the iPhone. I believe there are quite a bit of them in the package to replace after a bit of use.

The phone to be honest is in extremely good shape compared to a lot of them on eBay. I've seen some where you cannot even use the screen because it's so bad and you cannot even see anything. I've seen extremely shattered and spider-webbed cracks. I believe this one is actually quite good compared to some that I've seen.

Let me know what you think I could get, and I will most likely post this in the For Sale section with a price as soon as I find a good price that I think it's all worth.

Thanks guys, but I'm asking for a selling price, not to repair it.

I've looked into that, and they are extremely time consuming and a very high chance of ruining the touch-screen because the digitizer is glued to the glass. It would be very hard and very time consuming to getting it done and I do not have the time or the patience to do that, so I am trying to sell everything that I have for a decent price for someone who wants an iPhone like me who had a cheaper phone and wanted something great.

Thanks for the help though, but the repair is far too expensive professionally and I would not risk ruining the digitizer by trying to remove the glass.
Well it's hard to say. Do you want a quick sale if so then I would say like 275-300 that's my $.02

It's got a broken faceplate, I'd think the only people interested in it (despite whether it works flawlessly or not--it may or may not continue to work flawlessly after someone buys it) are people looking for parts.

I could throw it on eBay, and easily get over $100. I was just looking for someones opinion on here.

There are worse conditioned iPhones like mine on eBay, and they are currently between $100, and $150, and have only the phone, so I know mines got to be worth that at least.

Thanks for the feedback though. Every bit helps.

that's why I said like 250 cause you can spend 12 dollars on ebay and get a new glass screen for it

True, but like we said above, it may or may not be as easy as it looks, but anybody willing to take a chance with it is great to me.

I would do it, but I have no other phone and I can't risk ruining this one and not have one, so I'm trying to upgrade to a new 3G.

I'm thinking $150-200 sounds reasonable according to the selling prices on recent ebay auctions.

I've also seen quite a few that are shattered, and ended around the same pricing for the phone only, so I'm hoping this can be worth at least that. I know there seems to be a demand for these phones even if they're cracked.

Any other price suggestions?
I say go ahead and post it on CL or ebay for the $150/200 that you mentioned--if phones are selling for that on ebay in similar condition, you have nothing to lose. I guess my estimate was a bit low, lol! Good luck!

Haha, no worries. I'm thinking about giving it a few more days on here in case somebody has any suggestions or makes another offer or else eBay it is.

not lowballing or anything, but considering you can get a brand new Iphone 3g 8gb for $199, and a refurb for $99 (from AT&T, but regardless)

So, i would say $125 - $150. At least, that's what I would pay for it (if i didn't have mine), cause no one wants to really buy a cracked screen iphone = / And its a 1st Gen also... so...

Not everyone can get a brand new one for that price. It's subsidized. It means you have to either have a valid iPhone contract, a current upgrade eligible contract with AT&T, or open a brand new contract with AT&T. Some people already have AT&T but can't upgrade. That's how I was before I got this phone from a friend.

A lot of people do want to buy one, at least according to eBay. I've only come here to get an idea on pricing.

I wouldnt give more than $50 for a delicate iPhone with no warranty, let alone needing repair.

Offer a reasonable apprasial and NO commentary, PERIOD!
the touch digitizer and the screen are attached as well as the glass, so you would have to replace the whole screen so i would say $120 shipped or less
I can get iPhones for 75-100 Bucks.

Cool. I didn't ask what you can get them for. I asked how much I can sell mine for.

I know you didn't ask I was just saying.
And Idk how much you could Sell a Cracked Screen phone for :>
Well it's 1st gen and those are sought after. I'd say count on getting 150 for it but you might be able to get a buyer willing to pay 200 or 250

Thanks, that's what I was thinking as well. Worse conditions are running around 160 on eBay, so I was thinking around there would be good.
