We're happy to be able to bring you these exclusive screens of King of Fighters XII, if only because it meant we got to look at screens of King of Fighters XII. Seriously, look at this thing. We couldn't be happier that SNK Playmore got the money together to make an HD fighter. Thanks, Doki Doki Majo Shinpan!

As far as we know, these are the first screens of the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 version, and for the most part, they look exactly like the (amazing) arcade game, with one small difference: the North American console version has an optional anti-aliasing filter for the character sprites, which is enabled in all of these screens. We think that the new art looks wonderful without any extra smoothing.

KOF XII is scheduled for a worldwide July release.

Why would it be optional for a console game?

because - for a 2D Sprite game, its common for this to be available. Either you can have blurred/not so colorful sprites with no edges or colorful sprites with edges.

I personally prefer the latter

I just cant wait for this!
All of Playmores fighters have had this option so its no surprise its here too.
Normally you get 5 levels for the low res games but here just the one would do.
However as you say the characters look amazing anyway so I see no reason to blur the edges at all.

Thanks for posting the news. Nice to see some screens from the home versions.
Fingers crossed for a couple of extra characters.
I want Iori with his orochi flame back and perhaps Vice and Mature
