That sort of deal could bring PC gaming into an entirely new demographic, perhaps allowing Dell and Valve to target casual gamers by including some easy-to-play, addictive games on Steam.

Seems the two companies could be thinking ahead of me because Portal will be included, pre-installed on all machines. That's casual to me, folks!

seems that now steam is gonna be pre installed on an alienware computer, also with Portal

btw searched and saw nothing

Sure, prebuilts are overpriced, but at least Dell is trying to do PC gaming some good.
People still buy alienwares? Lol.

Dell could do PC gaming even more good if they stopped selling Alienwares. I hate that people think PC gaming and immediately think "Oh alienware are teh l33t!"

Fail. I hate when PCs come preloaded with stuff. Just another thing to uninstall if you don't need it.

Fyi, Alienware makes some very nice laptops.

I don't think very many who is buying a Alienware aren't going to game on it.

You are going to end using Steam anyway. Isn't that reason why you buy the Alienware for playing PC games and majority gamers play games from Valve.

Yeah and thats why it so much better to build your own PC and cost way less then an alienware.

Actually, I was looking at an Alienware Aurora the other day and it wasn't bad at all. Comes with the Corsair H50 and has an unlocked BIOS. It really isn't as bad as many people make it out to be. And Portal is a SWEET game to get for free. Talk about a gaming classic...
Alienwut?

I like their gaming laptops though. Regardless of price, they're still awesome. Wish I could afford a monster gaming laptop.
Alienware makes very good desktops, I use to drool over their computers years ago in the earlier part of this decade.

Not everyone has the time or patience to build a gaming computer yah know.
