So I bought a Club 3D 6970 GPU. I'm a beginner regarding OC, but I thought I could easily pull of the 950mhz / 1450mhz (the ccc max) with stock settings. Well, seems like this was not the case. I couldn't even pull more than 935mhz core oc before I would freeze in games and furmark. Even 935mhz isn't stable with 1.175v so I upped it at 1.225v. I'm idling at around 50c with two monitors and under load I'm at 70-73c.
The weird problem is that I can barely touch the memory clocks before it gets unstable! At the moment I'm forced to run the stock settings of 1375 because even at 1390 it got unstable in furmark.
So as a noob I got to ask some questions. How important memory clock is anyway compared to core clock? And did I just get unlucky with the card because for me these clocks seem very low after reading people easily maxing the ccc limits.
