Yes you will. The Q9550 has a high stock clock, more cache, a faster FSB, and is faster clock for clock.

Though, if you are Overclocking, generally, the Q9550 will go farther than a Q6600

The difference was night and day going from my Q6600 to the 9550.

Higher overclocks, lower temps, lower power draw...

And as the son of god said, "12 megs of L2 cache.. Mmmmm".

Your board doesn't provide the best options for overclocking but it will most likely get it to 4 GHz.

When I went from my Q6600 -> 9450 @ 4GHz the diff was massive and still is on par with my i7 920 @ 4.3GHz . dollar for dollar a great great investment.

I went from a Q6600 to an E8500 and then to a Q9550 and then a Q9650. The 9550 was definitely a step up, but I had issues overclocking with my 780i so I went with the Q9650 a little bit later.

You really got a great price for your Q6600. The Q9550 will definitely be killer!
