Just finished my first PC... and it won't boot... Looking for help

I always have the worst luck with everything. Looks like I need to add PC's to the list too.

I just assembled everything, and the PC won't turn on. Nothing happens when I press the power button. I am almost 100% sure everything is connected properly. What troubleshooting steps should I take? Looks like I need to find someone experienced and video chat with them via skype to get this fixed...

99% of first-time builders forget:
a.) Did you put the power cord in the back of the PSU? Did you flip the power switch on the PSU?
b.) Did you remember the motherboard standoffs?
c.) Did you remember to plug-in the 4/8-pin CPU power cable?

Yes, I did all of that. Anything else I can try?

God, I am so overwhelmed. I always have problems with everything

do any lights turn on on your mobo when you plug the power cable in the PSU? if a led does turn on then you might have you power jumpers in wrong. check that
when i mean power jumpers i mean like for the power switch, reset switch, HDD LED, Power LED. check them all with the manual. if that dont work try shorting the pines with a screw driver

Nope. No lights turn on at all.

I don't understand what you are talking about at all. Try writing that out like you are talking to a complete noob. I don't know much about PC's at all.
Is the 24-pin ATX cable fully clicked in to the plug on the motherboard?

Sorry if what I'm asking sounds dumb, but we have to make sure the basics are covered before going into more elaborate possibilities

EDIT: For above, when he means power jumpers, he's asking if the wires that are hooking your case's power button to your motherboard is in correctly. The wires are easy to confuse, and it's easy to mix up the positive/negative wires. Double-check to make sure the wires are in the correct PWR_ON pins on the motherboard, not in reset or restart.

They were color coded, so I just plugged them into the correct color. Should I not use the color coded feature?
check page 29 of your user manual. it should say sutting about yout f_panel

heres the link to the PDF: http://download.gigabyte.ru/manual/mb_manual_ga-770t-usb3_e.pdf

get the pin header that goes to the power button (it should have "power sw" written on it) and plug that in the right place. Dont worry about the + and -
Ok, from reading the manual/viewing pictures, confirm that you plugged in the power switch wires in the pins BELOW the red ones?
It looks to me like you may have plugged in that PWR cable where the speaker pins are. Move the power cable directly down a row.
Check your manual page 25 to see what I'm talking about.

Put the ram in slots 2 and 4...it may be 1 and 3...try 2/4 first.
if everything fails, just take everything apart, then put it back together, i did that on my first build, worked like a charm the second go round.

The correct dual-channel configuration for REV 1.0 of this board is in slots 1 and 2.
OP, could you look at the bottom left corner of your motherboard (according to the picture you gave us) and tell me what rev it is?
test your psu. unplug it from the motherbaord (the big 24 ping connecter) get a paper clip and join the green connection to any of the black. the psu should spin up.
i think the switch is installed incorrectly...

Worked perfectly! Thanks so much. +Rep

I got confused where to plug the power LED's though since there were 3 slots, and the Power LED still doesn't turn on.
if the power LED doesnt turn on you might just have put it in the wrong way. turn it 180 degrees and put it back in

p.s. congrats on your first RIG!!!
