Well ,I just received my Samsung R 580 Desktop replacement ,for my son ,and I am very impressed. First , it is refurbished ,so I noticed some very light scratches around the monitor frame ,and the Core i5 badge was peeling in one corner.Other than that , I really can't complain. Here are the specs -core i5-430m ,Geforce 310m ,4GB 1066mhz - DDR3 , 500 GB 5400RPM HDD ,Windows 7 premium64-bit, Blu-Ray ,15'6 "LED backlit screen @ 1366x768 .The first thing I did ,was popped in The Dark Night " Blu ray ,and the picture looked great. The sound was not as loud as I had hoped ,but very clear and un-distorted. Then, I went for broke.I installed Crysis, and ran it on Low settings at 1066x720 (or something like that!) and I could not believe it. It ran very smoothly . The details were minimal ,but it did not stutter at all. I am going to install Tropico 3 tonight, and I am sure it will run decently. My son is very happy with his new toy .I suspect I'll be using it whenever he is not!! For $579 shipped ,I am satisfied .
Believe it or not He is more interested in Pokemon still ,than naked chicks, but I'm sure that will all change soon. He already has his hands on Pokemon Black & white (Japanese versions) ,not due for stateside release till next March.I did lock it up as much as possible. The sick thing is ,is that some of the pokemon sites ,have racy advertising images along the sides . So now He is now not allowed to randomly search for roms without me supervising.
