Nah, i dont think that you will see much difference... core i7 is on average 300-400$ more than a c2q build, and for the most part, not much performance differences (unless you are rendering and encoding).
Honestly wait till westmere (probably similar performance to c2q tho because they will be mainly dual cores) or what I am doing, wait for Sandy Bridge (octo core with hyperthreading).
