Thought it was about time, I figured my rig could do some good...anyone who could word me up quick on getting my GTX 260 rolling would be much appreciated... cheers.

EDIT: By rolling I mean folding...I don't think its doing much right now aside from idling.

You can get the GPU client here. Just install and run.

Pick your folding name.

The OCN folding team number is 37726
if I enter my name the same in both clients will it Register the same? and for the same team?
if the user name and team number match, you will get credit for both clients running on the same name.
That would be a nice rig to fold with. Here's a GPU guide. Once you get that up and running, then you may wish to try one of the CPU folding clients. But lets get this one going first as it is the easiest and most points per day (PPD).

You can check here for some links to other guides.

If you have any questions come back and ask. Sometimes, the Stanford software can be a bit confusing.

Thar she squeels. Okay OCN, here we go. (I have an addictive personality)...and up goes the PSU fan speed!

EDIT: Folding on all 4 Cores and the GTX in less than 10 minutes, just read the "what can we do to make you fold" thread, and I fold.
Sweet!! Welcome to folding.

Thank you for folding... and prepare for your new addiction.
Welcome to the club.. We have cookies!

Just remember to give each of your clients different Machine ID's or you will conflict. The SMP would be one ID and the GPU2 client would be another.

thanks, it did it automatically as I had the CPU one running as I installed the GPU client. Sick. Everything's a little louder in here thats for sure, PSU's on full blast and so is the GTX! I didnt realise folding was this intense on your gear, had to up my dodgy Jay Car high speed 120mm on the Noctua for this action too.

EDIT: WHOA @ Nvidia [email protected] Viewer watching the strand assemble! Sweet!

Careful, I think watching that actually cuts your productivity. As your card is then having to render that image while also doing the work.

So this is really why all you guys have Quad SLI cards etc....I always wondered why you'd want 4 x GTX 280s when one does the "Gaming Job" just fine.........My GTX260 pwns every game!
