Im not sure if it's always been like this or if it just came about recently, but my xonar DX and ATH-A700's at 3% volume (first jump from 0% on my keyboard) is pretty loud. It's totally bearable, but I'm finding that over a period of gaming I get massive headaches, and since games can't easily turn down their volume, it's becoming a pain.

Is there any solution? 15% volume is comparable to 100% volume on an ipod with stock headphones..

As always, help is appreciated.

If you have a speaker system you could run your cans through that would work.

Soundcard>speakersystem>cans plugged into speaker system.

works for me.

Or lower the WAVE slider in your sound settings.

Thanks, the wave slider did it for me. I must have jacked it up when testing how loud I could blast music on my speakers and totally forgotten.

You should hook those up with a xonar or x-fi.
Your ears will melt and not in a bad way either
