hey all,

a few days ago i got a pc from a friend of mine for repair.
after some tests i found out his videocard was fried and his hdd was trashed.
after bringing the news to him he said i could keep it all, so now i got an old case

i think it has some potential though

anyway...i want to make this case for my dad since he is using an old case (about 10 yrs old) which doesn`t have a side window, and it never heard of cable-management! lol
enough of the background talk, time for some pics and ideas.

anyway, i want to get an 120mm fan in the back, and probably 2x 80mm in the front (next to each other like the Fatality case)

i`m open to other ideas...i`ve got a dremel and bondo and i`m not affraid to use it so bring on the ideas

Nice project I like your ideas so far.

I suggest rear 120mm or largest that will fit, and the front intake with either dual 80mm fans or a 120mm fan which ever you prefer. Also I think a side panel window or at least a fan over CPU would help as well. If room could even put a fan on top but might be overkill depending on what is going inside the computer.

Could put a media card reader or fan controller in the 3.5 in bay? I think this will be a good project and he should like it.

Another thing a good coat of paint I am sure you planned that in his favorite color scheme would be nice.

with colors i was thinking about everything flat black, with lime green accents/lighting (like my dad`s racebike)
sidewindow is an option yeah, but i might go for green mesh instead

i`ve measured everything and the 120mm in the back will fit perfectly and in the front i can use 2x 80mm AND keep the usb block in the front

i`ve been looking at that UV green acrylic but i don`t like it that much so i`ll think i`ll just stick to green Mesh

but i still don`t have any good ideas about the front :S
the sides however are probably gonna get a sort of "torn apart" look (Monster style) with green mesh in the tears

well...sorry about the lack of updates but i`ve been pretty busy with killing mice

i`ve got a plague here so i`m shooting them with my BB gun and placing ratpoison everywhere lol

on to some more serious matters...i`ve decided i`m gonna go with a 120mm rear fan and 2x80mm in front....only problem is...in the front there is a little sliding mechanism so you can cover the USB ports...i`m thinking about removing that completely and make a few new usb ports on top of the case.

i`ve already got me a can of primer and Glossy black, but i still haven`t decided on the green placement...i think i`ll keep the green mesh idea and give the blue part on front a green color as well (instead of simple black)
also i`ve got me a load of green leds for some extra lighting

hopefully i`ve got a mice-free house after this weekend so then i can start the modding

yes...i`ve been rather busy today

as you can see in the pics i`ve started with the dremel and began with the logo on the side...
also i`ve painted the hdd cage and the reset and power button (which i forgot
)

also, the front panel is now partially ready...the top and centre parts are done, but the bottom part is still not nice and smooth...still working on that

hopefully i can continue this tonight after dinner, but i doubt it

thank god for the weekends

w00t the K-logo is done

it took me a lot of cut-off wheels (and some angry neighbours) but it`s finally done

i still need to file the edges but i think i won`t need any c-channel or something

for now i`m calling it a day, and start a little war on Xbox live Call Of Duty 4

cheerz!
