I bought asus 6950 2gb a week ago and was planning to Xfire it down the road, but then the deal for the MSI 570gtx went on sale and I had itchy fingers.
I RMAed the 6950 but there was a 40$ restocking fee... I Ordered the 570gtx for 275$ and it will be at my front door tomorrow. I really hate to rma the 6950 2gb and eat the restocking fee... but I would like the 570gtx.

so what would you guys do?

1) keep the asus 6950 and dont accept the 570gtx so they give me the full refund on the 570

2) Use the 570gtx, rma the 6950 2gb and suck on the 40$ restocking fee.

Planning on Heavy gaming on Battlefield3/ Diablo 3/ Eve Online/ Starcraft 2 1920x 1200 for now, Would like a IPS panel maybe for christmas

Keep the 6950.. what type of question is this? Can't be serious

6950 XFire scales better then GTX570 SLI
6950 can be flashed to a 6970 and an awesome overclocker
GTX570 has bad VRMs and can blow up on you if you OC to high...

If you wanna get rid of it and not pay a restocking fee i'll buy it for Xfire.. just lemme know.. but im sure your gonna keep it.

EDIT: Also if your trying to go for more then 1 monitor later in the future you'll take advantage of the 2GB of memory and Eyefinity rocks!

or be stubborn and get the GTX570, but I can tell you now your not going to be happy.

I'd keep the 570. You already pulled the trigger, and its the faster card by a pretty decent margin. Why step backwards!

Where did you get that deal for the 570 at? Did some looking around and couldn't find anywhere that had it that cheap.
Found that deal right here, it was posted and linked from Newegg275$ free Shipping and no Rebates!

I would eventually like to buy a Dell U2711 for high screen resolution gaming so the xfire will come in handy,

I do not have enough rep to post in for SALEs section but I will sell the 570 for exactly 275$ plus you pay for shipping cost. Its such a great deal I would rather transfer it to an OCN member rather then return for a refund.

Except from when you crank up the res and/or go crossfire/SLI. Then the cheaper 6950 wins easily.

To OP: Keep the 6950 2GB, it's better than the 570 @ high res. U could unlock it and then some OC, it will be a beast. U will end up losing money since u have to eat $40 restocking fee n the shipping fee to ship it back to NE.

Care to show proof that the 570 is faster by a pretty decent margin? Oh nvm, i don't really care because i know who u are from all the threads about Nvidia

6950.
Both cards are about the same speed in games but the 6950 has more VRAM and can be unlocked. Its also a tad cooler iirc.

I agree. If he bothered to look at more than the blatantly Nvidia biased benches he would know that the 570 is almost identical to the 6950 overall. The 570 pulls ahead here and there, but then again, the 6950 outruns the 570 sometimes too.

Only reasons I say keep the 6950 is bc it has 2GB and the VRM issue with the 570. Also if u have a switch on the 6950 you could flash it to 6970. I mean there is nothing wrong with keeping both and using in another rig or something....
