I plan on doing an unofficial contest to determine who has the best rig on OCN
please enter with several pictures and full specs in your sig. with a cpu-z validation, gpu-z validation (or the like), temp results (screencap or the like), 3dmark 11 results, and windows system rating screencap. all must include your OCN nickname
this will be a hardware-only contest , and will not include audio hardware outside of the case(ie speakers, headsets, mics)

system requirements:
ATX (micro, xl and hptx included) motherboard
i7 Extreme or Fx 81** overclocked to 4.6 GHz or higher 24/7
3 GTX 480 or higher sli, or 3 6970 or higher crossfire,
16 GB DDR3 1600 MHz ram minimum
512 GB+ SSD storage
1 or more unique items, mods, or elements

initial entries will be taken, then selections will be placed on a poll lasting 1 week to determine the winner
as i cannot fund a prize, i hope that an ocn mod will see this and get official sponsorship.
if not then i will make a signature code for the winner, and the prize will be bragging rights

if i have left any gaping holes or errors in this contest, please let me know.
many unknowns will be determined by the popularity and number of entries.

when entering keep in mind that the following will be taken into consideration to pick the finalists.
benchmarks
temps
case/mounting appearance
display setup
case noise
building, overclocking and modding skill
creativity
time and effort put into the rig
rig presentation

this will not be a contest to see who spent the most on the coolest collection of stock parts, it will be a contest of creativity, time, effort, and experience for computer building, overclocking, and modding.

if there is enough response, there will be an AMD winner and an Intel winner.

It throw my cuffs into the ring. Should also make wc or phase a requirement since a rig on air can't compete. I'll toss in my other 32gb of ram if need be for the cpuz

Reads 4.13ghz for some reason. Top two bars were at 5.0 and 4.75ghz respectively.

can i see your battlestation?
btw the better your stats, the better chance youll win so go ahead and throw it in their. can u post the actual cpu-z link?
and if someone has done a very good job on air, then it will be an added appeal.

I don't get it. Why does the rig need so much RAM or so big of an SSD?

Does this also mean that no HPTX or XL-ATX motherboards are allowed?

both of those are ATX models so they are allowed.
and this needs to be a super rig.
thats part of the point of the contest

The fastest rig would actually only have around 8gb-16gb of ram on an x79 setup since for benchmarks you'll want the fastest ram possible, not the most. Fastest single cpu config possible right now for synthetic benchmarks is a 3960X, RIVE, 8GB Dominator GT 2400, 4x 7970s, and an OCZ Revodrive 3
