Kingston 40GB SSD, any word on new firmware?

Kingston said they were planning on having new firmware for the 40GB SSD with Intel controller, which will enable the TRIM function. Now Intel got their new firmware out, any word from Kingston yet?

Kingston website redirects me to Intel website for firmware upgrade. I'm pretty sure those drives are literally just rebranded. My only concern would be I know those 40GB drives were supposed to be 'value drives'. Is all the hardware inside the same, just half the flash chips?

Edit: Only the 'M series' drives point me to Intel for firmware update. If it's "V series" then I do not believe there is an update and there may not be one coming

Yep, seems the Intel firmware will work on the rebranded Intel drives but the "V" series uses other controllers.

The only V series with Intel controller is the 40GB one, the other V series uses Micron controller if I remembered correctly. I guess it's not out yet.

This list hasn't been updated since the end of Oct. but the "V's" and "M's" and "E's" make me call "BS" because it's so confusing to the consumer.

These boot drives use have the ICs so their performance isn't as good as standard Intel cards. However, they're still better than HDD.

These are custom drives by Kingston so they will have to provide the custom firmware
They're phasing out the "V" series?
