Thinking of getting a 2500k and new mobo with 3 PCI-e x16 slots to upgrade my sig rig (I have a spare GTX 460/768 for PhysX).

Anyone that made a similar jump that feels it was/wasn't worthwhile?

I think you'll be happy with a 2500k especially when you see how easy it is to reach 4.5ghz+

If you're looking for a big difference in current gaming performance... You probably won't really get that "pop" you are looking for... (Detectable by you, I mean. FPS gains? Yup.)

Benchmarking, you definitely would.

Your current rig seems like plenty for most things today.

That'd be a good move. You'd see some nice performance boosting. However, having 3 cards air cooled graphic cards all squished together like that might cause some good heat.
