EA Chief Talks War: Battlefield, Medal Of Honor And Getting Ahead Of Activision

Quote:

Just hours before EA officially announced the long-rumored return of its Medal of Honor franchise, the company's chief executive told Kotaku his battle plan for EA's war-game competition against Call of Duty. He wants Modern Warfare's spot.

They can make it happen if they have a amazing marketing team and create massive hype.
All they need to do is advertise it like this.

It's like MW2. With dedicated servers. And modding tools.

Have fun.

If they treat PC gamers good by actually listening to what they want, then they might beat MW2's PC sales, but good luck beating its overall sales.
This just in: video game company wants to sell more copies of its video game than their competitors!

*gasps*

lol

After the crap thats happened with IWnet and MW2 I really do hope EA pick up the slack and stop sucking.
If EA really wanted to stab at Activision they'd put out Battlefield 3.
Need to have Best Buy advertising how it's like an action-packed movie that you're in and it lasts as long as one too.

very true, but i think bfbc2, 1943, and moh will take the cake already, and bf3 will smash them hard id say. kinda hard how they plan to release 3 games of war at once tho, unless the gameplay style of moh is different.

"Frankly, once you get past, sort of, four people on a map, I think our gameplay is better," Riccitiello answered. "That is a legacy of DICE and where they came from. The original Battlefield PC was a 16-on-16 product and they've optimized. The other thing is, I think things like vehicles and destructible environments are a fresh innovation."

Is he saying MoH:MC is going to be 2v2? I don't understand this statement.

I do like how he is hinting at more open, non-linear gameplay, I think if they try hard it shouldn't be tough to make a better SP campaign, hell shouldn't really be tough to make a better MP. But we'll see.

Three cheers for the lesser of two evils!

We need Valve to make a modern combat game.
I think EA will utilize the errors and bugs found in BC2 and MOH:MC to help development of BF3 so that they can repair the reputation suffered in BF2. Thereby producing a higher quality title out of box which will give the appearance of coding superiority. In other words, everyone will think they rock and will hate others who can't seem to get it right, the first time, out of the box.
A well done MW2 clone that also has the mw weapons and maybe a realtime sopmod system or something fun like that and that treats PC gamers like they matter could win me over.

He might be hinting at a 4vsCPU like L4D.
