Game Informer's April cover confirms what Kotaku readers already knew: Big Sister will greet gamers when they land in BioShock 2's Rapture later this year.

The cover shows off the new creature, which we described as an amazonian version of the Big Daddy, wearing similar, though svelter, gear. The image depicts a Little Sister riding on the back of the Big Sister in a sort of papoose cage.

The story behind the Big Sister and what sort of role they or it will play in the upcoming game will likely be revealed both at this month's Game Developers Conference and perhaps in the latest Game Informer which promises 10 pages of coverage.

Very interesting. Love the new look for Ms. Bubbles.

The Big Sister looks awesome, can't wait to hear more information about them and their role in Rapture.

sweet, thats creepy looking. haha yeah even Big Daddy's look funny now compared to this thing. hopefully there will be epic fights against them.

also the subtitle "Big Sister Awaits your Return to Rapture" could have multiple meanings... it either throws the concept of a prequel out the window, or it simply means "you" as in the yourself will return to Rapture. i still think the game will have prequel elements. unless theres been other news to go against this and i havnt read it yet.
I <3 Bioshock.
huh! wow thats.. different.

i would say however that its not a NEW breed of enemy by the looks of it, its still a big daddy but a skinnier more agile one named the big sister. And theres a cage harness for the little sister's to ride in during battles rather than hide away somewhere. pretty neat but i hope we havent seen the last of the big daddys. and where's big mommy!!?

pretty hyped for this now. REVEAL THE SETTING ALREADY!!

i don't see the point to a BioShock 2, and returning to rapture , didn't we kill the Boss and most of them splicers last time we were down there, shouldn't be much left to do

also the little sisters were freed so there is little point in just doing the same thing again just with different boss or something, surely they can do better then that, otherwise it is not worth the purchase, and i hope they don't use Open AL as the sound API, barly works with Vista for some reason
so many sound issues with that game, unless you force Directx9, and XP computability mode, and its lame due to no Directx10 that way

aside from that it was a good game, but why make a second?

I'm sure they would make Bioshock 2 interesting. I think Take-two is a good company and to make it all repetitive for their customers after releasing such a masterpiece would be absolutely absurd.

BTW...I was able to get the sound working correctly. I think the latest patch fixed it.

But any writer can find one little detail from the last one and make that into a whole different story.

Anyways I really can't wait for this game, it's going to be awesome. All the suspense of, is it going to be a prequel? sequel? something totally different!? lol

I am SO NOT FIGHTING THAT THING SHE CAN JUMP DUDE. That's the only reason I killed big daddies. They were slow and I could run like a wuss.
