A Yale University student is suing US Airways for $1 million over an Xbox 360 he says was lost on a flight.

Jesse Maiman says that the 360, which had a specialized hard drive, disappeared from his luggage during a flight from New Haven, Conn. to Cincinnati in December.

He is seeking $1,700 for the 360 and the maximum allowable damages, which is $1 million.

A US Airways spokeswoman points out that the government limits liability for lost luggage to $3,000 per a bag.

$1 million? Seriously?

Sounds like a runny-nosed kid in for attention.
"Specialized Hard Drive"
Is it modded?

~Gooda~
Popping open the enclosure, switching the HDD and flashing the firmware isn't anything special. Probably has "specialized thermal material" on his CPU too... *cough* AS5 *cough*
He will probably win about $500, though I highly doubt his X-box was on the plane. Aren't electronics such as an X-box NOT allowed on planes?

If he looses, airline will probably counter-sue for about $400,000 in court costs (because you know they will have an awesome lawyer).
I doubt the airline lost it, security probably stole it.
It's snobby, attention-wanting kids that make me get really mad. Explains why I don't really want to go into an Ivy League school...too many rich "preps".
specialised hard drive lol

I don't see a reason why he couldn't take it. Unless he stuffs bombs into XBOX's.

It's the Ultra Mod edition with Ln2 cooling & each individual part having its own heatsink on it along with a liquid cooled hard drive. It has a diamond and pure gold trim case and the a/v and power cables are encased in whale leather.

Meh, if I ever lose stuff I'll ask for the value of it back, and no more.
Ignoring the ridiculous 1 Million in damages. How is he asking 1700$ for the Xbox? What kind of "specialized drive" boosts the price ~1400$
