L3 cahce is usually found on the motherboard but intel have embedded it into their chip.
the same thing happenned for l2 cache, it used to be on the mobo, now pretty much all cpu's have it on their die.

ok but u didnt answer my question. wen would i need this if i were a gamer?
or evn not a gamer wat wopuld i need this part of the cache 4?????

The extra cache that the P4 EE edition has would equate to around an extra 200mhz of clock speed over a non-EE P4.

Extra cache will come in useful for just about everything games/video editing....

Isnt it where the data that the cpu is processing is stored for a little while, just for the cpu to process it, it is stored in the cache, so more cache means data can be processed faster. i may be wrong but thats how i believe it works.
