L4D vs L4D2 ???

So i bought L4D on release day, and after a couple weeks i got realllllly bored with it.

I've heard L4D2 is really good and i was told i should get it. I need opinions from people, is the second game way better than the first? Or if i got bored so quickly, is it even worth spending the money on?

Thanks!

As a piece of entertainment. LD4 is much better than LD42.

As a game LD42 is definitely better than LD4.

The voice acting in LD42 is horrible. 4 hillbillies killing zombies?

If you thought the first one was boring, don't bother with the second. Its essentially the same with a BIG dollop of icing on the cake.... I love it xD

Coach, Nick, and Rochelle aren't hillbillies...

Agreed.

Check out my review. You could say I was a little biased though

I'm afraid you don't know what you're talking about. If you did, you would make note of the fact that you said LD4 5 times instead of L4D.

I have a place in my heart for Zoey and Francis. Never gave l4d2 a thought after I seen the original chars weren't in it.
Yeah, I would have liked the original characters, but the new ones are funny.
i like the new weapons and new zombies.

l4d has more better maps because they are a bit more intense, like hard rain.

I have never played L4D. I am having this game imported from the US though.

IM getting it for two reasons, one of which is a bit childish

1) To see what all the fuss is about
2) Because the gov had the original version extremely cut back and I dont really like people telling me what I can and cant see and play so I decided to have the full un-edited version in my possession. A friend of mine is picking it up from Gamestop for me during the Black Friday sales. I should have it early next week.
Other than some of the maps atmospheric effects, its a pretty hilarious game. I've rotated between my roommate and I playing countless times, it just doesn't get old. PS: Black friday is in 2 days...

I for one am totally bored with L4D after playing L4D2.

The campaigns alone are much better. And owning a horde of zombies with a chainsaw??
It really doesn't get much better then that. Melee weapons are what's missing from the first L4D, so much fun.

The VS play is much tougher now. The new special infected keep things very challenging for the survivors.

Completely worth a sequel in my opinion.

ZOMBIES DON'T KNOW 'BOUT MY FRYIN' PAN! *DONK*

As a southern boy, I must say that I play with Ellis all the time.
see the thing is, money isnt really a problem. i might just go ahead and grab it. a couple friends of mine and i are going to be having a game night next week. just wanted something for everyone to have fun with.

and playing L4D with a large group was pretty fun. So i might just go ahead and get it.

Thanks a lot guys

I love both games and I think L4D2 was a major improvement and play it often, but if you didn't like 1, don't get 2, IMO

They're pretty close as game play goes, l4d2 vs has a better scoring system. The scavenger mode is pretty fun too. I still think l4d2 is a little buggy with the infected, at least for me the hunter jumps aren't quite as smooth as l4d with wall pouncing and such.

Expert is more difficult on l4d2 and with realism on it just seems like overkill. I completed one campaign with expert realism and I don't really want to attempt that again.

In case you don't know, scavanger mode you play vs but collect gas cans to a central point, best out of x amount of rounds wins.

Realism removes the outlines, text above people's heads and makes things harder to kill. The witch also kills you with one swipe instead of the normal knock down.

I don't know if Realism changes the amount of damage special infected can take but I have felt that they have toned down the tank from L4D so really even if they did beef the tank up in realism it would probably just bring it in line with the original. Also in expert L4D the witch already one shots you, regardless of whether you have been knocked down or not, so she is just as dangerous as expert original and not as dangerous as the original on expert without realism.

The only thing you really lose from L4D original expert and L4D2 realism expert is the outlines, if you are careful it shouldn't change too much.

The tougher zombies are still pretty easy to kill with a melee weapon / magnum (which one shots regardless of realism mode or not, handy tip for those who do not know) and one of the auto shotguns.
