We are giving away all of our software for free on Tuesday, October 28th, 2008. This is a fully working, fully supported copy of either CrossOver Mac Professional, or CrossOver Linux Professional. No hooks, tricks, timebombs, or gimmicks: it's the real deal.

What is Crossover

CodeWeavers' mission is to transform Mac OS X and Linux into Windows®-compatible operating systems. By doing so, we provide a bridge to help users migrate from the Windows software world to these other environments. We do this primarily by making it possible to use Windows software on Mac OS X and Linux.

Windows antivirus programs won't detect OSX viruses generally if at all.

I've used it, the program is terrible and barely supports anything.

True, WINE is actually better than crossover especially since 1.0 came out. Either one is just a headache to be honest.

WOW. +REP for catching a Mac user's eye...this will go quite well with my MacBook Pro. I'm surprised they're doing this though, their software is great and sells like mad at the local Apple store...

You do realise this wont work then, antivirus software is usualy kernel level, wine is basicaly just a compatability layer, why dont you just get AV software that can detect windows viruses with your current OS

i have tried, and they just don't work as well as avira. they only detect ~ 1/3 of the viruses that are actually on the drive.

well in that case i doubt youll have any luck with running one under crossover, but then again i might be wrong, try looking for a portable copy of avg etc, also please bear in mind that crossover does actuarly allow data access on your main hard disk. so it is possible for a virus to do damage inside crossover
They brought the site down due to "high traffic", so you can't even register your code. Kind of lame, IMO.
I've heard the workaround for that is downloading the demo and registering your code through that...
Either way, I've tried crossover games before... it doesn't support ATI cards at all.

Not to turn this into a support thread, but I suggest you consider something like VirtualBox.
