Your question is very general. Best in what terms... ie, power, looks, functions, quality, dependability, cost? My $15 Sunbeam Rheobus is the best, for me.

I think the prize for best fan controller regarding feature set has to go to the Aquero 5! :)
Unfortunately it also holds the prize for 'Most Expensive Fan Controller In The History of The World'. Google it if you don't already know about it... I think it looks pretty awesome!

Looking at the pricing. The cheapest model (LT) goes for about 85$. Then, we have the pro version at 171$ and finally, the top dog, the XT goes for 229$ and it includes a remote and heatsink.

Have a look at this pdf http://forum.aquacomputer.de/images-ac/aquaero_5_eng.pdf
It's a very cool product. You can program you own custom fan profiles and it can draw temperature graphs from software temperature probes. I think you can also set safety shutdowns.
Honestly, its particularly useful if you plan to watercool in the future because you can add flowmeters to it.
If I had the spare money I would definitely get one.

Yep. I have been using my FC5v1 for more than a 1yr and it has been all good. I still havent open my free replacement FC5v2 yet.

Also isnt Fc6 better than FC5v2?
and if not why?

Here's mine

Again its aluminum black and its bit noticeable given that the case panel is plastic.

The only big difference between the FC6 and FC5v2 is the power output 20w versus 30w per channel.

Nice that look almost like a HAF-X case?
Is it correct lamptron Fc5v2/Fc6 does not have automatic mode?

Does it pose a risk for me having a only manual fan controller
if i never controlled fans before?

can some software still overide the lamptron for automatic fan controlling
for those busy moment during games or so?

something i should read before controlling fans manually?

Btw, not sure if i can get FC5v2 here will i stil be fine with a Fc6
i have the HAF-X default 5 200mm fans (but with led) + 1 thermaltake Spinq VT fan
so though of 2 fans be sharing channel.

Raiden can u tell me how did u do it
to share what fans on the haf-x if u have that case?

There's no risk having a manual fan controller. The main point of me having a fan controller is to fine tune the acceptable noise level especially in my case where I have two San Ace 38mm fans that are really loud. Once you set the right fan speed that you want, you are pretty much set. In general, ppl having fan controllers is just to have greater control over their fan speed.

No software can override the fan speed via the fan controller because the fans are directly plugged into the fan controller where it is powered by the power supply via molex cable. With the fan controller, you are just tuning how much volts are being sent to the fans.

The Lamptron FC6 is good enough with regards to power output to them fans that you have. the FC5v2 power output is a bit overkill for most setups unless you have several industry grade fans like San Aces, Delta, etc which require a lot of power and produces a lot of noise.

For my setup, my Lamptron FC5v1 powers my San Ace 38mm fans (2) on a separate channel (ch1 and Ch2) and 3 of my Yate Loons High speed 140mm fans. 2 of the intake 140mm fans are plugged into a fan splitter on ch3 and the other 140mm exhaust is plugged on ch4. I do have the Lamtpron FC5v2 that I received as a free replacement because the FC5v1 has a defect, so the customer service, features, and quality are things that I like.

Thanks
What was keeping me a bit away of getting Lamptron was fear of killing expensive hardware by not having experience in fan controlling and setting it too low.
I though about same risk when someone change voltage in bios and risk fry pc.
so good to know this is not the case and i be Safe

Questions:

1. Do you recomend setting the fan controller mostly to 50% when not gaming
and all fans same setting almost?
i guess anything under 50% is not recomended right?

as i said this is the fans in HAf-x:
1x 200mm frontfan
1x 200mm sidefan
1x 200mm backfan
2x 200mm topfans
1x 120mm thermaltake spinq V proessor fan

2. Fan splitter do i need to buy that
or is it included?

3. I found this good review
http://www.techreaction.net/2010/07/14/lamptron-fan-controller-fc6/

then read there is couple of different readout on the front panel display of Fc6 i guess that is done upon installing it ?

Since i get engineer this month to build everything what of these things should i make sure they activate:

Alarm Status Display: The alarm is indicated by the alarm character
RPM Display: RPM is displayed in units of 10 RPM for each channel, fans need sensor wires for this function to operate

I already know that i should make them set it in Red color and Celcius and that is done by jumper.
