Hi all, I got an old Acer Aspire 5590 that I'm currently using for college work. I've been running it without the battery for quite a long time (more than 2 years) and recently I just purchased a battery replacement (from here) just in case the power in my new apartment goes out suddenly.

It fits nicely in my laptop and it really kept my laptop running when I unplugged the AC adapter. However, the laptop somehow could not detect the battery, therefore no information on battery usage was shown. I tried with both power option in Control Panel and BatteryBar v3.4.0 and neither detected the battery.

Please help me on this. Will + Rep for any suggestion.

Thanks.

I have no idea.

I guess it's an aftermarket replacement since the seller listed that it's also compatible for other models as well.

I did include the link to show where I purchased the battery from in the first post.
