Hi mates,

My fathers laptop is dying because the screen is kinda flickering and it does weird things. Although it's almost 4 years old so it's time for a new one

Specs of the one we have now:
- intel geniune t1300 @ 1.66 ghz
- 1 gb ram
- 80 gb harddisk
- windows xp nl

What I think Iam looking for:
- Intel core i3 (because its more future proof)
- 4 gb ram
- windows 7

these two look nice to me what do you guys think about it?

Asus K72JR-TY038V

MSI CR720-004NL:

Hopefully you can see the specs because it is a dutch site.

1st thing's first

do you want to game?

if yes go Asus

if not go MSI casue MSI uses the IGP

while the Asus use the ATI Mobility Radeon 5470 which is good only for light gaming (my friend has it)

Oh yea sorry,

well I dont really want to game on it just a bit for school and internet. Sometime I play games on it like Warcraft 3 but it would be nice if I could play call of duty 4 on it.

then go Asus, it has decent battery around 3-4hrs if you keep all the powersaving features on

but don't turn on the Queit Office mode as that turns off the Fan completely and you can BSOD and overheat the laptop

Asus build quality is OK and I've used my friends laptop which is the exact model

and yes you can do soem decent cod4 and WoW gaming on it

it shouldn't lag, he can play BC2 on low to medium settings on it
