I just picked up a LED Acer monitor and I must say somethign just isn't right with the colors... there is a very slighe hue/tint of blue-purple...

it's hard to tell but I can catch it. if you put my laptop next to it, it's easier to notice. my LCD screen did not have this problem and it was 5 years old...

I never had this problem going from LCD to LED tv, but it's more noticable on my monitor...

I bought the Acer S231HL 23" btw

I'm looking at Acer G245HQ 24" now...

so should I go get LCD or is it possible the Acer LED is just not the best option.

I mean i don't really care about it looking slim, or light or anything... it's just a monitor that sits on top of my desk.

I'm not a huge fan of Acer, but that sounds more like a monitor issue. Maybe find something to help you calibrate the monitor.

In general, LED monitors consume less power and have certain backlighting advantages... Look into edge lighting vs direct lighting and rgb vs white light, it may help you decide on a better LED monitor.
