I just bought lfd2, it downloaded and all that.

But, when I try to open the game my screens go black likes it loading the game, then it goes back to my desktop like nothing even happened.

This exact thing happened to me when I moved over the l4d2 game files on a newly installed computer. Turns out I didn't have directx 9 installed (even though some games worked... maybe it was just missing a particular dx version that the game had been compiled with) Try this

I also just deleted and redownloaded. It still didnt work!

anyone else have any clues to what might be going on. Ive also checked to make sure steam client service was running.

It has to be something with my video drivers. But ive unistalled and re installed them already.

This is the weirdest problem and I can not find any solutions online.

All my other steam games work, css, tf2, portal.

I have defraged the game files, verified them, and also uninstalled and re downloaded but I get the same problem.
