Is it worth it to upgrade from a Lenovo T60p to a W500 if I get a discount of $500?

My school is soon to be offering a trade in program for my laptop model (T60p) where we get ~500 towards a new W500 model. (All these are Lenovo laptop models, because that's who my school has contracts with)

My laptop isn't that old, and I keep it in good running condition. The new laptop on the site starts at 1200. Let's say my school's W500 is 1200-1300 (additions, plus school discount). So net cost should be about $700-800.

I will be a Senior next year, and will have had the laptop for three years in spring of '10. I see the sense in upgrading with this program to get a deal on a new laptop, that would be on par with new systems as I get out into the real world, but then I also see that this laptop runs fine, so why give up one and pay money for another when the one I have works fine.

In your opinion is it worth it to trade in my T60p for a new W500, if I get a $500 discount for trading in?

I don't know the hardware on the W500 yet, but my T60p is 2Ghz Core 2 Duo, 2 GB RAM, 160GB HDD, ATI Radeon v5250 gfx. I am pretty sure this was a pretty top of the line for the T60p, and I expect the W500 to be pretty maxed for the W500.
