Im going to do a lets play of GjoeRulvs FF7 hardcore. Im going to also use all the mods from [urlforums.qhimm.com[/url] in my videos.

I need to know a good video convertor to reduce the massive size of FRAPS avi's to a more reasonable level with little loss of detail. For 20 mins im thinking of around 1 gig. What do you suggest? Also what should I use to record audio over the file?(Commentary)

Also I need suggestions on how to alter my playing style to highlight the new tactics involved because I just always followed my old tactics of power-level, spam hero drink/megalixer, etc lol.

Here are some examples

I use Sony Vegas which makes the size go down a TON and it still looks pretty good. I can give you the exact settings I use if you end up using it.

Also, where can I get all these mods you are using, and are you using the PSX sound files?

I made some of the mods there myself. Yes it is using the PSX sound files as well.

Ill check your tool out, it sounds like it will do good, I need to keep quality so I can showcase all of Qhimm.coms mods in great detail but not take FOREVER uploading on a 3MB upload connection(I get 35 down though so

Everythign is stable, lots of stuff is 100% complete, and I mean lots, but we at qhimm.com will probably always change this game to make it better. I mean when the whole game gets remade, I can see whoever is at qhimm at that time improving it more beyond that.

There is more stuff to see than I can shake a stick at, or care to list because the list would be entirely too long. Just go there and look around.

FF7 is my favorite game but I think one day you should make a nice post with all the information in one pretty thread so everyone can easily enjoy your and your other forum goers work with out having to search all over for it. I'm sure you would get plenty of rep for it too.

How in the freak do I use Vegas? I click publish and it wants me to sign up to some mp3 place? So I do and then my only publishing options are mp3 and Windows Media....

I would very much like it to stay AVI

Edit:1 N/M I got it.
Edit 2: why the crap did it make my avi size go from 956mb unconverted into 3.48 gb converted?!?!?!

Click properties (ALT+ENTER), set your resolution, audio quality ect.. there

Then go file > render as > use default template and save as type video for windows (.avi) then click custom to ensure your video and audio settings are still there. Then click save and it will render your video, if you get an error let me know

Yeah no error but its increasing my video size obscenely. I recorded with Fraps at 1920x1080 at full settings, 60 fps. My video is 30 seconds long and has a size of 912mb

In Vegas I reduce it to 8-bit, 30fps and get 3.48 gb......

I've never liked Vegas for rendering. To be honest, I prefer Camtasia Studio to render all my stuff. Camtasia can't do 1% of what Vegas can do, so I use Vegas for whenever I want to edit+render out, but Cam when I just want to throw a raw in there and compress the size down.

I recorded about a 4min video in 1080p of my desktop (showing a tutorial for moving Terraria maps), and I rendered it out about about 24mb with literally no quality loss. Phenomenal.
