Turns out this is 75hz.
This is a game changer in my book. IPS with HDR means it'll get rid of IPS's weaknesses such low contrast and weak blacks while keeping its strong points such as color accuracy, viewing angles and response times (compaered to VA panels).

I wouldn't count on it. I like that its not curved, and the specs are good, but then i think about the IPS glow, and its low refresh too.

It has FreeSync though (but it isn't listed yet on AMD page).
Recent 60Hz LG monitors with FreeSync often support 75Hz but they skip frames on Nvidia GPUs.
I don't believe this display is going to have a full array backlight, with 550cd/m² peak (not even close to the 1000cd/m² HDR10 requirement) and with IPS panel you can enjoy 0.5cd/m² black levels then

The Asus PA32U seems much better for HDR compared to this LG 32UD99 and the BenQ SW320.
If you want a bigger size than the 27'' and don't want/need G-Sync & 144Hz then this is the one to watch out for.

tbh he doesn't really seem to know what he's talking about. I watched the entire video and on the UC99 segment he starts talking about input lag and totally mixes it up with pixel response time.

[email protected]" is not 'more than enough' at all, it's the absolute minimum you want to go if you only intend to game on it.

A 32" monitor on the other hand doesn't require scaling and allows for a more noticeable difference between 4K and 1080 outside of gaming..

Looking with interest at this display, for now seems the only game in town as a 32" with HDR under 1000 USD/EUR.
Quite curious to see at the end what real black levels and contrast of this panel will be (taking for granted that the rest of traditional IPS advantages will remain of course).

As far as I know this should be the specification to meet the UHD Premium certification, but even without it you could still in principle be able to display HDR content (even if of course not at the best level).
So far contrast ratio is conspicously absent from LG's announcements, and being it an IPS panel, I'm not holding my breath regarding black level of course..

Guess those are the compromises you have to accept at the moment to hit a sub 1000 USD/EUR price point for HDR vision pal, both the Benq and Asus will sell for 500-600 quids more at launch.

can i use this monitor with gtx 1080 and volta gpus by 2018 without any problems
or i'll need to use new vega from Amd ?
if i used this monitor with upcoming nvidia gpus , will be enough for 4k HDR gaming with smooth gameplay
or we need to use Amd gpus anyways with this monitor ?
I wish i could running this monitor with upcoming nvidia gpus for smooth gameplay at 4k with advantage of HDR .
