Hell all,

So I got a used motherboard and once I got it, it doesn't have the backplate nor the retention lever. I tried to see if it would post anyway but no beeps or video. Do you need to have the cpu lever and backplate for it too post? If so do you know where I can get these?

The motherboard is Z97S krait MSI

Thanks for the help, been building computers with AMD this is my first Intel build

Sometimes the retention bracket isn't "Needed" however enough pressure does need to be put on the CPU in order for all pins to make contact, which is what the retention bracket supplies.

You really should get the bracket before trying to build the system.

Thanks that is what I was kind of thinking as well. You have any idea where one can be picked up? I can find the backplate but not the actual cpu lever part
