LGA 1156 CPU heatsink suggestions?

I don't plan on overclocking the i5-750 much beyond 3.2-3.3 Ghz. What would be a good CPU heatsink for this?

Thanks,
Michael

You can run the i5-750 with the stock cooler at the 3.2Ghz range, just like I am doing now. It hits around 60Cish under 100% load, but it's still better than spending money on a cooler if you're only going to do a small overclock like that.

The Arctic Freezer 7 Pro Revision 2.0 is supposed to be a good cooler for the i5, and would be nice for what you're wanting and lower the temps a bit compared to stock.

I am waiting a bit longer until I get some more funds together to purchase a higher performance cooler since I will be running it at the 4GHz or so range.

Should get the job done.

Thanks so much for the suggestion. I like the specs of the Arctic 7 as well as its price point. Should be plenty sufficient for my needs.
Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 Comes with LGA 1156 Brackets I think.

It gets the job done with 775, so It should be a solid ($30?) HSF.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835103057 for a little more will do a better job of cooling, but
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835233026 should suffice an also do better than the artic cooling freezer 7
I would also recommend the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro, and yes it does comes with Socket 1156 Retention Brackets

Also if you need thermal paste that will give even better temps here is some or $6

Make sure they fit in your case also would sort of be bad if it was a tad big

Mugen 2 doesn't have 1156 support.

The TRUE/Megahalems will end up more than $59.99 once you add a fan

Xigmatek's support for 1156 is subpar at best right now. You would have to buy an add on kit and stuff, and it may not fit. I went through a lot to get mine to fit, so just a heads up.

As for the OP, I OC'ed to 3.4 GHz stable on stock voltages, so you should be completely fine doing 3.2 or so on the stock cooler, if you want to save some money.

I second that. I have the Arctic Freezer 7 Rev. 2 and really like it. It's really a good cooler. I haven't had any issues with it. It's keeping my i5 cool.

It works great in my rig.

LOL seriously people?

He doesn't need a $50 cooler to OC to 3.3Ghz.

This cooler is PERFECT for his needs:

Acrtic cooling Alpine 11 Pro. $13.99

Silent, decent performance, cheap as hell. Cools my i5 just fine at 3.4Ghz.

Why do you think people are recommending multiple coolers in multiple price ranges? Maybe he might want to spend more on a higher end cooler for better temps? Seriously calm down

I don't know why they're recommending coolers for something other than what the OP requested... you tell me.

Might as well tell him to buy a $300 watercooling setup while we're at it.

Maybe you should calm down.
