They still have alot of life left I just picked up a e1200 celeron dual core.

I wouldn't say a dual core LGA775 has alot of life in them
A good few quad core chips are still fighting fit though, although mine will be replaced this year I think

This.

They are quads, right?

Can't complain if Person A has a Q6600 while Person B is on a E8400.
My Q6600 still packs a punch, no bottleneck

I still use my [email protected],7GHz nothing to complain about.
In my fluid simulation and 3D-rendering i could use more power but that would kill the good old overnight-renderer

I don`t think there aren`t many games out there that could bring a [email protected],4+GHz with some nice g-card(s) down. Some guy here posted he`s playing GTA4 with his duo.
(ok he got some wicked temps and uber CPU-useage, but he`s playing...)
And the websurfing-youtuber/office-fanboys don`t even need a duo-core.

I have a c2d E6400 non-overclocked and it's starting to show its age, especially in demanding applications and in games too, even if it's able to run most of the games out now. For office/internet use or watching hd videos it's still perfect and will probably last me years as a second rig.

My friend even used Windows 7 with Pentium 4 overclocked to 3.8GHz LOL. Anyways onto the main topic, I'm still using an LGA 775 chip. Good enough for my games. I have a Pentium Dual Core E5200 2.5GHz @ 4212.5MHz, 4GB DDR2-800 @ 896.42, a Palit GeForce 9500GT Super 550/400/1400 @ 633/513/1600 and a 160GB Western Digital Caviar SE.
