If you're eager to stay on the cutting edge of Firefox, head over to Mozilla to grab the newly released Firefox 3.1 Beta 3. As we mentioned last week, the next beta will be upped to Firefox 3.5 Beta 4 to reflect the many changes between Firefox 3 and this next major release. In the meantime, you can expect improved private browsing, JavaScript, and more with the latest release. (See the release notes for more details.) Been living the 3.1 beta life already? Share how it's been working out for you in the comments.

sweet now we can actually benchmark the new browser builds with peacekeeper!
Didn't they say they're changing it to Firefox 3.5, because of the high numbers from the rest of the competing browsers?

You can always try the portable version so to avoid any problems. http://portableapps.com/apps/interne..._portable/test

I'd personally wait until the release candidate builds before replacing it with Firefox 3.

I'm still not in understanding why people chose to use IE. Browsers come out with new features to support technology so that developers can ultimately make the user-end more pleasant. I have IE 8 Beta 1, and while it's better than IE 7, it still suffers from rendering issues because it doesn't conform well to the W3C standards. This is a fundamental component of a web browser.

It's good to see Firefox add more features to the Gecko rendering engine.

The 3.1 beta 2 has some flickering issues on my laptop, but it's much more responsive than 3.0.7.

And if you were anything more than a IE fanboy you would know there is a nifty little option in FF that enables smooth scrolling. However, if smooth scrolling being default will make you fall in love with a browser than so be it.

I've been so impressed with this beta. Stability seems better, speed seems better. Of course i don't use it 24/7. Just here and there to watch it's development. I do the same with Chrome. I hope this version improves plenty.
3.1 betas have gotten better with each passing one

I probably would've posted that whether or not I saw his comment.
I won't care about peoples preferences if IE gets an improved rendering engine. Wouldn't we all like that? But until then, I'll hit IE users on the head, particularly when they troll in thread about Firefox.
