Hello, my sisters boyfriend has moved in with us and i was wondering if there is a way to limit his download speeds through the switch/modem. He likes to download his movies and pr0n when i trying to play games online, thus i llllaaagggggggg alot

sometimes i want to

him because he is an illegal immigrant atm.

What router do you have?

Install DD-WRT or Tomato and use QoS.

If your router has QoS then you can find out the ports for your games and give them priority.
Else, just turn on mature content filtering or block know porn sites for his IP address.
All of this depends on the brand and quality of router you have

Weird. I have no knowledge of your modem or if you could plug a router into that to manage everything.

It sounds like your modem is managing your network. Is there an admin panel you can get into? Look for something like QoS (quality of service).

ya there is an admin panel lol, its ****ty thou and has almost nothing. i got a spare router, i just needed the switch cause it has 8 ports haha. i gues i couls run the switch off the router......

What router?

Also, in your modem's admin panel, are you able to turn off routing? (ie. disable DHCP management etc)

Ya i didnt think the switch did, and the router is nothing but trouble, so i redirected all his pr0n sites to gay pr0n and a movie review for the movie "i'm watching you' haha. and his myspace to
home.comcast.net/~wolfand/
