well, my rig hasn't even arrived but here's what it consists of: http://www.overclock.net/1354788-post1.html

So although I dont have the parts, I'm already curious as to what the limiting factor will be when OCing my Opty 165...
Does anyone have this ram? how high can you push the FSB with it? and will the lanparty nf4-d limit the oc at all? whats the max FSB you can set on this mobo? What should I be expecting in terms of the clock speed?

All just questions of a kid anxious to get his comp... but we all have our ways of dealing, and asking alot of questions is mine

I'd say if anythings going to limit you it'll be the CPU itself and/or the temp's.

Looks like a pretty solid build though, the ram will need a divider to go very high on the CPU. Depending on the stepping you'll probably pull close to 3ghz or so. Wish I had the extra $ to buy some stuff (namely a 165), I've been pretty broke the past couple months.

As long as you get a decent stepping for Opty165 then the limiting factor would be the heatsink.

If you get one of the not so good steppings then the limiting factor would be the CPU

The sort of divider depends on how well your RAM OCs.

Don't know exactly how much vcore you will need but I'd guess it would be 1.5v+

The stepping will be printed on the IHS
