Hey guys, here is my problem. I installed Linux Mint without installing a swap partition, only to realise that a swap is needed for putting the computer into sleep (linux noob, didn't know). Anyways. i would like to create a swap partition.

This linux is running on my laptop.

Acer Aspire One
Intel Atom Processor @ 1.6Ghz
120GB HDD
1GB RAM
Linux Mint

You're going to need at least 1 GB of free drive space. Do you have that? If it is a fresh install, it would probably be easier to just reinstall. Mint is very easy and fast to configure so it shouldn't take long to get back to where you are now.

Or if you don't want to reinstall, you could use Gparted (which should be available within Mint somewhere). Just allocate about 1 GB as swap and let it partition. Then you will have to make sure it shows up in /etc/fstab so Mint can see it on boot.
